Rajgarh is a town and a Nagar Panchayat in Sirmaur district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.Rajgarh is located at 30.85°N 77.3°E. It has an average elevation of 1555 metres (5102 feet). it is beautiful place.

As of 2001 India census, Rajgarh had a population of 3083. Males constitute 56% of the population and females 44%. Rajgarh has an average literacy rate of 79%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 83%, and female literacy is 73%. In Rajgarh, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Way to Valley

To get to the valley, visitors can choose either to access the valley by air, rail, or road. The nearest airport is about 4 hours drive from the valley which is around 102 kilometers in Chandigarh. There are daily flights coming to this airport from most major city in India and with the new international terminal being build, it is expected that lots of international flight will start to land here. However, the taxi ride from the airport to the valley is very high and can cost an average of 2, 500 rupees per trip.

For those who are travelling by rail, the nearest railway station is located in Kalka which is about 76 kilometers away. From there, the taxi fares will cost only around 1, 800 Rupees.

Rajgarh Valley can be easily access by road from Delhi, Chandigarh, or Dhradun because there are lots of highways had been built by the government. From Delhi, it is an easy drive by using the National Highway 1 to Ambala followed by National Highway 22 to Rajgarh. For those who are coming from Chandigarh or Dhardun, the highway to use is National Highway 21 to Panchukala and National Highway 72 to Nahan respectively.

The road leading to the valley is in good condition during the summer but can be quite dangerous during the winter because of some steep hill driving is required. The hill driving will start from Kalka for those who are coming from Ambala.
